About Us

A community learning to live with faith, hope, and love:

Forest Grove United Methodist Church is a community of people seeking to follow Jesus in ways that are honest, compassionate, and grounded in real life.

We are not a perfect group of people.
We are a community learning, growing, questioning, and showing up for one another—and for our neighbors.

Who we are:

We are:

  • People who are exploring faith
  • People who have been in church their whole lives
  • People returning after time away
  • People who carry questions, doubts, and hope

What we share is a desire to be part of something meaningful—
a community shaped by love, grace, and purpose.

What matters to us:

Belonging comes before belief

You don’t have to have everything figured out to be part of this community.
We believe people are welcomed as they are—not as they’re expected to be.

Questions are part of faith

We make space for curiosity, doubt, and honest conversation.
Faith grows through exploration, not pressure.

Love is lived, not just spoken

We seek to follow Jesus not only in what we believe, but in how we live—
through compassion, justice, and care for others.

Everyone is included and celebrated

We affirm the dignity and worth of every person.
People of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are fully welcome here.

Faith is bigger than politics

We do not align our faith with any political ideology or nationalism.
Our commitment is to the way of Jesus—marked by humility, justice, and love.

Our tradition:

We are part of the United Methodist Church, a global Christian movement rooted in grace, connection, and practical faith.

This tradition emphasizes:

  • God’s love for all people
  • A faith that is lived out in daily life
  • A commitment to both personal and social transformation

You don’t need to know anything about Methodism to be part of this community.

What we’re becoming:

We believe the church is not just something we attend—it’s something we practice together.

We are continually growing into a community that:

  • Shows up for one another in meaningful ways
  • Engages our local community with compassion and justice
  • Creates space where people feel safe, seen, and valued
  • Lives out faith in ways that make a real difference

You are welcome here:

Whether you are:

  • Exploring faith for the first time
