Collection Opportunity to Support HomePlate Youth Services
FGUMC, together with Cornelius and Hillsboro UMCs, is collecting items for the youth supported by HomePlate Youth Services. Please bring the items that you donate to the church by August 23rd.
We hope to collect at least 50 of each of the following items:
- Tissue packs
- Small sunscreen
- Bars of soap
- Toothpaste (small or regular sized)
- Dental floss
We also are looking for donations to provide 20 gift cards valued at $10 each.
In addition to the items listed above, the following items are needed by the youth served by HomePlate Youth Services:
Clothing
- Bras! All sizes and styles
- Women’s underwear, S-L only, no XL+
- Men’s underwear all sizes
- Men’s pants and shorts, more small/medium needed right now
Everyday Needs
- Backpacks
- Duffel Bags
- Reusable Water Bottles
The following items are not needed at this time.
- Toothbrushes
- Menstrual hygiene products
- Women’s XL+ underwear
- Razors
- Shampoo and conditioners
Roof and Gutter Replacement Work at FGUMC – August 3 to September 11
Forest Grove UMC will be having their roof replaced. Construction will start on August 3 and should be finished by September 11. Below is the anticipated work schedule:
ROOF REPLACEMENT
- 8/03 – 8/17 Roof replacement work on part of Education Wing, Office, Fellowship Hall
- 8/23 – 9/11 Roof replacement work on Sanctuary, Steeple, Spire
GUTTER REPLACEMENT
- 8/10 – 9/04 Gutter replacement – begin with Education Wing first
Red Cross Blood Drive at FGUMC – August 21 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: FGUMC to schedule an appointment. Forest Grove UMC will also need volunteers to help with this blood drive.
Growing Baby, USA – Tuesday and Thursday at 1-3 PM at FGUMC
Forest Grove UMC is proud to announce a partnership with Growing Baby., USA, a non-profit program that provides free clothing, shoes, and toys to support the needx of growing babies with no financial restrictions. This program is located in Room 7A at Forest Grove UMC. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, or by appointment. We are currently looking for volunteers to help sort clothing and other donations before they are offered to families.
