Funerals and Memorials

A space for remembrance, gratitude, and hope:

When someone we love dies, it can feel overwhelming to know what to do next.

At Forest Grove United Methodist Church, we walk with you through this time—
with care, compassion, and a deep respect for your loved one’s life and story.

You don’t have to navigate this alone:

Whether your loved one was part of our church or not, we are here to help.

We can assist with:

  • Planning a funeral or memorial service
  • Working with your funeral home
  • Shaping a service that reflects your loved one’s life
  • Providing pastoral care and support

We will move at your pace and help you make decisions without pressure.

What is a funeral or memorial service like?:

Each service is unique, but most include:

  • Music (live or recorded)
  • Scripture or meaningful readings
  • A message of hope and remembrance
  • Time to honor and reflect on your loved one’s life

Some families prefer a more traditional service. Others want something simple and personal.
We will work with you to create something meaningful.

Our approach:

We believe every person’s life is sacred and worthy of being remembered with dignity.

Our role is to:

  • Honor your loved one’s story
  • Create space for grief and gratitude
  • Offer words of hope, grounded in faith

There is no “right way” to grieve. We will meet you where you are.
