Weddings

A sacred beginning, shaped with care:

A wedding is more than an event—it’s a moment that marks the beginning of a shared life.

At Forest Grove United Methodist Church, we are honored to walk with couples as they prepare for this commitment, and to help create a ceremony that reflects both your relationship and the love that holds it.

Celebrating your story:

Every couple is unique, and every wedding should reflect that.

We work with you to shape a ceremony that is:

  • Meaningful and personal
  • Rooted in love and commitment
  • Grounded in a sense of hope and sacredness

Whether your connection to our church is long-standing or brand new, you are welcome to begin the conversation with us.

Our approach:

We believe marriage is built on love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to grow together.

Our role is to:

  • Support you in preparing for marriage—not just the wedding day
  • Help create a ceremony that feels authentic and grounded
  • Walk with you through the process with care and clarity

As part of this, our pastor is Prepare/Enrich certified, a widely used premarital tool that helps couples strengthen communication, deepen understanding, and build a strong foundation for their life together.

Preparing for marriage:

We believe preparation matters.

Through guided conversations and the Prepare/Enrich process, we will explore areas such as:

  • Communication and conflict
  • Expectations and shared values
  • Strengths you already bring into your relationship
  • Areas for growth as you move forward together

This is not about passing a test—it’s about building a strong and lasting relationship.

Planning your wedding:

We will guide you step-by-step through the process, including:

  • Meeting with a pastor to get to know you and your story
  • Planning the structure and tone of the ceremony
  • Selecting readings, music, and meaningful elements
  • Coordinating use of the building and logistics

We aim to make this process thoughtful and manageable—not overwhelming.

Use of the building:

Our sanctuary provides a beautiful and welcoming space for weddings.

We can also help coordinate:

  • Rehearsal scheduling
  • Audio/visual needs
  • Space for preparation and gathering

Details and availability will be discussed as we begin planning together.
